Description: George Bernard Shaw's Saint Joan premiered in 1923 and tells the story of Joan of Arc, a young woman who led an army against the English and united France as a nation and crowned King Charles VII during the 100 Years War. After being arrested and put on trial as a heretic, she was burned at the stake in 1431. Shaw's Saint Joan explores the nature of miracles, pride, nationalism, and betrayal. Featuring local volunteer performers with all proceeds going to the St. John's Stone Church Conservation Project.
